Port’s Floating Boathouse Comes Home On Time

The Port of Toledo Wednesday moved its floating boat house to its new home at the Port docks on Depot Slough. The craft was built at Sturgeon Bend and moved to its permanent location just in time for the 2010 Wooden Boat Show. The 20′ by 50′ structure will hold a classroom space and be home to the youth boating program. Funding for the project came from a $10,000 grant for materials from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund in February, and a $4,000 grant from the Lincoln County Community and Economic Development Alliance in 2009. Port Director Bud Shoemake says the plan is to have a Program Manager and Board develop programs and secure long-term funding and other resources.

Amazing!
I just can’t think of how they calculate that house to float.
Anyways, I’m not a mathematician, so what?!
:)
By the way, the Boat House is now back at Sturgeon Bend for finishing work. It was pulled over to Port Dock One for the Wooden Boat Show.
Is that so?
I wish I can rent a house like that. Even just for a single night. :)
