All American Quilt Schedule Changed

August 30, 2010 Local News No Comments

Due to a delay in shipping the All America City quilt, the schedule for display is different from what was printed in our August 27 edition. The quilt will be on display at Toledo City Hall on Sept. 1, JC Market on Sept. 2, West Coast Bank on Sept. 3, Quilter’s Cottage on Sept. 4th and the Toledo History Center on Sept. 5th. The quilt represents the 2009 All America City finalists, including Toledo. Each finalist city was invited to offer a quilt square representing their community. The blocks were assembled into a quilt by National Civic League President Gloria Rubio-Cortes. Toledo’s block was designed and sewn by Monica Lyons of Quilter’s Cottage. It “represents Toledo with the river, trees and a mill cottage,” she says.
