G-P Toledo Receives Energy Efficiency Nod
Georgia-Pacific’s Toledo operation was nominated for a Strategic Energy Management Practices award at the 4th annual Oregon Leaders Award for Industrial Energy Efficiency held last week in Portland. The awards and nominations are sponsored by the Oregon Department of Energy, the Energy Trust of Oregon, the Bonneville Power Administration, and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. Mill energy leader, Larry Davis, spearheaded the Toledo mill’s industrial energy efficiency efforts which resulted in this nomination, according to company spokesman Tom Picciano. Georgia-Pacific Toledo Vice President and local Manager, Kenneth Li, praised mill employees and said, “The tremendous effort and innovative ideas of all Toledo mill employees to conserve energy and use it efficiently truly helps keep the mill competitive. As the energy leader of the mill, Larry helped us keep our eye on the ball and our employees really came through with outstanding performance in energy efficiency,” Li added.
