Obituary: Milton Turner

Milton L. Turner, 89 of Toledo, died February 12. He was born October 24, 1924 in Corvallis, Oregon to Allen and Vida Turner. Lloyd is survived by his significant other Jean Cloe, son Norman “Ritchie” Turner, 4 grandchildren, and friend Dave Boyce. A private graveside service was held at Eureka Cemetery in Newport. Obituary: Larry Monroe Johnson

Larry Monroe Johnson, Jr., 49, died February 8, at his home in Toledo. He was born September 26, 1962 in Roseburg, Oregon to Shirley Ann (Tucker) Johnson and Larry Monroe Johnson, Sr. Larry was a 1980 graduate of Toledo High School. The family said, “Larry met his wife, Janet, at Toledo High School…. high school sweethearts. He fished for a long time because he wanted to take care of his family financially, but realized he missed quality time with them, so he got off the ocean. He has an extraordinary work ethic, and he hunted just as hard. Next to his family, he loved going up in the woods, scouting and bow hunting. His hunting partner, his father, passed away almost two years ago, and hunting never was the same. His favorite thing in life was to be at home with his wife and kids. Once off the ocean he went to work for Pumpro with the intent of eventually purchasing the business. He is survived by his wife, Janet Lynne Johnson of Toledo; children Lynnesy Marisa Johnson (Aaron Garofalo) and Bo Zackery Johnson (Sharayah Kenady); mother, Shirley Johnson of Toledo; parents-in-law Ron and Marilyn Manning of Toledo; brother-in-law, Todd (Britta) Manning of Germany; Aunt Cathy (Donn) Liston of Alaska. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Monroe Johnson, Sr (June 2010) and grandparents Jim and Patsy Tucker and Norris Johnson.

Obituary: Viola Alicea of Toledo

Viola Yanez Alicea, 89, of Toledo, Oregon, died February 3 at her home in Toledo. Viola was born on Feb. 23, 1922 in Tampa, Florida to Esther (Gallardo) and John Anthony Yanez. Her family wrote she enjoyed “raising her two sons, traveling to all the places of her dreams, helping to care for both elderly parents, maintaining a close relationship with both her sisters, driving & working until her mid 80′s. She will be missed.” She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leopold Alicea. Her children are Dr. Gilbert Alicea of NY and Steven J. Alicea (Kerry A Smith) of Newport. Graveside Services will be held February 23 at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, New York.

Obituary: Diane Kay Davis

Diane Kay Davis, 64, formerly of Toledo, died February 2 in Newport. Diane was born to Walter and Dorothy Potter July 1, 1947 in Kingman, Arizona. The family moved to Lincoln County and Diane attended high school in Toledo. She moved back to Arizona where she raised her family. Eventually she returned to Lincoln County where she spent the last years of her life. Her family said “Diane enjoyed her life as a mother and grandmother. She was lively and loved her job working with the public. During quiet times, she read, crocheted, and sewed.” Her father and brother preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy, her son Tracy (Robyn) Cole, her daughter Tiffani Cole, her sister Carol Rienen, and five grandchildren. Diane’s family is holding a private service. Arrangements by Bateman Funeral Home.
