High Surf Advisory Through Friday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory from 10:00 a.m. Thursday through 10:00 a.m. Friday. Seas are expected to build into the upper teens and peak between 20 and 23 feet Thursday night. The swell period will be long – 16 seconds – which will result in powerful breakers in the surf zone. Officials stress that the surf zone will become increasingly dangerous and some minor beach erosion is possible.

Toledo Man, Four Others Busted For Drugs

A Toledo man, A Tillamook man, and three people from northern Lincoln County have been arrested on drug charges after a months-long investigation by detectives from Lincoln and Tillamook Counties. The five suspects were allegedly involved in the distribution of methamphetamine and marijuana in both counties. The Lincoln Interagency Narcotics Team (LINT) and the Tillamook County Narcotics Team (TNT) served two search warrants at 3280 Salmon River Highway in Otis, and at 6955 Salal Avenue in Gleneden Beach. Nearly one pound of methamphetamine, more than 130 marijuana plants, several pounds of dried marijuana, and other related evidence was seized. Zak Aldrich Harris, 28 of Toledo, Shane Christopher Lawson, 42 of Lincoln City and Jennifer Adele Deriso, 38, from Lincoln City were all arrested on various charges.

The search at the Gleneden Beach residence resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, more than 35 marijuana plants, dried marijuana and other related evidence. James Day Burlington, 45 of Gleneden Beach as arrested and booked on various drug-related charges. Evidence developed in the Otis and Gleneden Beach raids resulted in detectives locating a wanted fugitive believed responsible for supplying “substantial quantities of methamphetamine to Tillamook and Lincoln Counties,” according to a release from the Oregon State Police (OSP). Joshua Steven Krumwiede, 35, of Tillamook was located and arrested near West Salem, in Polk County. Authorities say he was in possession of two stolen handguns, heroin and methamphetamine at the time. He is in the Polk County Jail.

OSP said the investigation identified some individuals misusing the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP) to hide their drug trafficking network. A LINT team representative said people who abuse the OMMP program to profit illegally will be pursued and prosecuted. Oregon State Police, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lincoln City Police Department assisted in the operation.

Gleneden Beach Man Arrested on Three Depoe Bay Burglaries

A Gleneden Beach man, Patrick Scott McKillop-Skeahan, 19, has been charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief for three incidents in Depoe Bay in October. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department investigated a burglary on Tillicum Street October 14. Deputy David Boys arrived to find the home severely damaged and items missing. The victim later reported $9 thousand in damage to the home. An incident October 15 on Ridge Place also showed extensive damage to the home and items missing. A third home on Wakash Trail also suffered damage; an investigation shows the crime likely occurred about the same time. Deputy Boys contacted McKillop-Skeahan November 15 because of warrants for his arrest and he was taken into custody. After being interviewed at the jail, he was charged November 23 with two counts of burglary and theft, and three counts of criminal mischief. Bail was set at $430 thousand.
